Chinese New Year is round the corner and it's the time for families to get together and be happy! (Or bored in some people's case. As in those we only see their relatives once a year) Therefore my family should all be happy and bonded and quit bickering because blood IS thicker than water whether you like it or not. It just seems like it's not during quarrelsome periods which will soon (hopefully) be over.
I LOVE MY NEW (and also first) JOB! It's physically draining but rather fulfilling knowing that I'm nurturing this bunch of toddlers. It's rewarding when they respond to your calling of their names and when they converse with you although barely in proper sentences or even proper pronunciation of the words. Even though most of them are chinese ed. Haha.. I'm extremely proud that I managed to memorize their names after one day of work and that I like them all because each is so adorable and unique in their own ways.
I should totally appear in the front cover of a "Be a teacher in PAP!" magazine. Lols.
I cleaned shit leh today. This girl (Wan Xuan!) poo-ed in her panties so I had to put her panties in a plastic bag and wipe her bum bum. Sounds gross?It isn't that gross when the person who needs to be cleaned is a mini person. It kinda feels different.
However I am not proud to say that I can be a little bit biased at times but I try not to let it show because it's not nice! It's weird because the little girl feels it too and thus has been sticking to me since day 1 and more so during the past 2 days. But I try to seperate myself from her whenever I can so as to not give out the wrong signal=) Still, she is DAMN CUTE. But it's sad because she can't really talk properly and she mian qiang-ly is able to spitter spatter a bit of chinese here and there. I really hope by the time I leave, she'll be able to speak more clearly and be able to memorize and use more English words. Her favourite colour is also pink =) (Or maybe she was just copying me?) I adore her. Shall take a photo of her soon. Whenever she sees me she will excitedly exclaim "EH!" and smile her cheeky little smile.
My back and lower back and bones ache because i'm constantly sitting,kneeling,standing. My body hurts so bad that I believe that I do all three simultaneously. Should have known that there would be retribution for not working hard enough to pass my napfa. Payback's a bitch.
Whatever. I still like my job. BYYE!

It's so ridiculous how the director, cast, producer, script writer and whoever was involved in the Xiao Niang Re production had to go all the way out just to please the very very annoying audience.
I mean, people should just quit complaining about the ending of a ficticious story and anyway, it's like the director's piece of work not theirs! If every show were to have happy endings then we might as well stop watching shows because we would already be able to predict the stupid cliche endings. Why was there such a big fuss about the ending? Maybe because they feel "cheated" since they've been "journeying" with the characters or something and deserve better. That is btw, not even a very good reason. It was only like what 30 something episodes which doesn't even total up to 2 months of your life. I don't even think I'd be so upset even if I broke up with a guy that I'd dated for 2 months. SHEESH PEOPLE. GET A LIFE. Life is not even a bed of roses and even me, a pinky girl who wants to believe in fairytales knows when to draw the line! Plus the fact that the ending was not even that sad. Yue Niang kinda seemed to really like the Ang moh man who was cute so who's complaining? Plus Chen Xi and Libby are both gd and deserve each other. Most importantly, he villians died! I for one, am not complaining.
The funny part is that they actually bothered to re-create a 3 minute ending to appease these dumb asses. The funnier part is that this ending is like even worse (it didn't even have subtitles so like about half the audience won't understand) and people are gonna start complaining again about the re-ending! I am abit pleased though that the directors decided to stick to their guns by sort of not altering the ending except to make it clearer or to appease the complaining side by adding the thoughts if YN and CX which I think is whatever.
i can't wait for people to start complaining bout the re-ending.
So today was gathering day at my house and we ate porridge (Yes marc, poor man's food.) and we played MJ but due to my (and reg also hor) slow nature, we didn't even manage to finish one round. But I won like 3.70 or something like that just that we had to scrap the money part cause if we wanted to, we'd have to finish the entire game which was not possible partly due to my hogging of the "zeng" position.
Anyway I watched F.R.I.E.N.D.S ytd on star world for like a few hours cause it wass like back to back episodes and there was this really funny scene which I remembered:
It was Phoebe's birthday so she wanted to celebrate by having dinner at a restaurant with all her friends. However only Joey turned up and the rest were really late (because Monica and Chandler were like trying to fight and make a baby at the same time and Rachel wouldn't leave the baby alone)and Phoebe was hungry and angry because they were shoo-ed off to a smaller table. Finally the rest arrived but they were still being distracted and totally forgot that it was supposed to be Phoebe's night so Phoebe got really pissed off and she stood up and said something like,
Phoebe: Look, today is MY birthday and all I wanted was to spend it by having a dinner with friends. Is that too much to ask? And you guys were soo late! None of you even bothered to call to inform me!
*then, Phoebe's phone rings*
Phoebe: WELL IT'S TOO LATE NOOW!
Ros: Er Phoebs, I don't think that's us.
Phoebe: Oh. Well IT'S STILL NOT OVER!
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA.i love Phoebe she is so cute and silly. (omg I sound like a primary school kid with limited vocab. I can imagine the teacher asking me "Charmaine, why do you like your pet cat?" and I would say "Because she is cute and silly!") Ange I need to borrow your alphabet by alphabet vocab booklet. haha.

Today is a sad day for Marilyn Sim as Edwin was enlisted today=(
Very heart-wrenching. It will be Matt's turn soon and I will need a lot of tissues and hong you in case I faint. I know it's so drama but it's not everyday that you find someone who completely understands you and is around almost 24/7. During the time he was in Hongkong I felt like an empty shell devoid of life. More accurately, I would say I felt like I didn't really exist or as if I was on another country or world altogether where I didn't know anyone. A pretty lonely existence. Yeah yeah this sounds gross and mushy and something a teenager experiencing puppy love might say (btw i'm officially not a teenager anymore because sbs cut off my student concession pass rate on my ez link) but it isn't and it's just something you feel when the person you are closest to suddenly disappears. So there, I understand how you feel Mar and I will devote my time to being with you.haha!
So goodbye Edwin Neo! We will all miss you so hopefully time flies a bit faster=)
Anyway, I've been staying at home the WHOLE DAY and it has been abit boring but quite productive as I've officially finished packing my whole wardrobe. Kicked out some old colthes that day but today, I rearranged everything and organized them into piles like : Wear often, Home shirts, Sleeveless shirts, Dresses, Jackets, Jeans etc. Now it's easier to find things I wanna wear!
Met with a little 'accident" when I acidentally kicked a table leg. My fourth toe - HURTS. As if that weren't bad enough, shortly after, I walked into my bed - kena the SAME TOE!! It is now swollen and abit bluey and I really hope that it is swollen as in bruised and not because my toe bone got like disconnected. I can't like put that particular toe on the ground cuz it hurts and cuz I don't think it can "walk" either. I totally deboned my toe. I got hainanese boneless toe.

I know 2008 has passed but I can't really seem to let go..On the surface it didn't seem like alot happened since I was so caught up studying for A's but on a closer look, I did have my fair share of fun as well. Here are some of the more memorable episodes of my 2008:
2 Jan
School started. I was very very excited to be back with A7. Honestly I was afraid that I was gonna be slightly friendless since I was super close to Ru and Sandhya in J1. My worries were naturally, redundant. Very glad I got to mix around and know all of you more =)
3 Jan
Went to Sim Lim square for the first time in my life and bought my Pink PSP cover and earphones with Matt.
PS: Reg I even have your first day in ITE noted in my diary. 7th Jan.

Saint Andrew's Cross Country at ECP. Went there in the morning with Emmanuel and btw, a lot of you weren't there!
We had a whole week of "Milestone" tests the following week.

Suchen Lim came down to basically tell us that we were reading too much into our favourite book of all time, Fistful of Colours. (Apparently it was also the day that Miss K was being bitchy towards me. I miss you Miss k!)

Valentines day. I honestly do not rmb how I spent it (with Matt or otherwise) BUT I do rmb that we had extra Lit lecture with K till 5.30. "SUCK IT UP!" she said!

I was suspected of Dengue fever (yes the day before my fairy birthday party) and I was very very frightened. And annoyed because I'd already bought matching princess plates and cups for the party.

My birthday. My fairy themed birthday party! I was well enough to celebrate and I was very happy that (almost) all of you came! I was really happy to be surrounded by party that I love and care for =) PS: I still have the little video clips of all of you saying "I am a beautiful/handsome prince/princess" at my doorstep. haha.

Service Learning Day at Chen Su Lan home! It was very meaningful for me and even more so that I was doing it tgt with my classmates! ("Lordess of the Sluts")

Trip to Greek exhibition! I rmb getting caught by the skinny( more like undernourished) fair bitch lit teacher for skirt and falling in love with one of the sculptures of a hunky greek god.

Dunman Sec funfair. Angela was cooking gross food. They had a "clubbing classroom" where you'd pay money to get in and club with all the posers.
The following week was block test one week.

The commencement of Adam Khoo's workshop or otherwise known as "the cheebye workshop 8am to 9pm" on the 1st and "the cheebye workshop again 8am to 9pm" on the 2nd. I wonder why I was so pissed off about it but i underlined "pm" so I think i have a pretty gd idea why.

Detention with Kim Lan and Jade. A very unmeaningful detention where we sat in seperate desks. We were not allowed to talk or read or do constructive stuff and the fans were turned off by Kim Lan so as to facilitate the reflective mood which was what we were supposed to be doing. rrright.

NYJC play. Accompanied Jade who wanted to support her friend. Major female bonding time =)

Hamlet play at Raffles hotel. I was a little late! Wanted to post the grp photo of us but I can't locate the file! There's one of me and Priya but I think you will kill me Priya if you saw it. You know, the one where your mouth is hanging open.

Meet the parents day! I stated the words "bring tissue" in brackets and hell did I need tissue. I always cry during meet the parents. The teachers always make me feel like I've let my parents down and that I'm stupid or not trying hard enough. sheesh.

Free cone day at Ben at Jerry's! Some of us went to Cathy Cineplex to queue for our free ice cream which was like a few levels of spirals! What an experience =) I'm a little hazy on this bit though...did we actually queue twice?HAHA.

Saints face off with ACSI rugby boys at the Padang! Exciting match! One of the few times I actually felt attached to my school. and the ahem, neon green shoes rugger. I surprisingly don't miss his face very much. Oh apparently I super felt patriotic to the school cause at the bottom of that month I wrote this, "We are arming for the fight, Pressing on with all our might, Pluming wings for higher flight UP AND ON." Omg. Patriotic feeling's running through my blood again.
Went off the the Esplanade for the VJC choir concert after that. I think that was the only time last yr i met with my TK choir friends. I miss you guys...

Last day of Mr Yoong's class EVER. The day Lydia's soul died.
June was an empty month with nothing much filled in the boxes of my planner since it was supposed to be a study every day month even though it was the holidays. Only on the 9th did I have plans i.e "Ney's and Rach's birthday celebration on board the Capri". On the top of the month I scribbled (after the end of the month), "From the lack of plans, I can see that you were studying hard. VERY GOOD CHAR!" and then... "No actually I just didn't write my plans in the boxes to make myself feel better." Haha I am funny. I talk to myself. Soliloquy.

OLPS Funfair with cousins! We had fun dunking ppl with faces that we didn't like. At least we were paying to dunk them! haha! And the free toilet spree peach syrup...haha!
September and the months after had a lot of black writings in it. Black signified school stuff and extra lessons and stuff so I was working hard man =)

Mama Mia! with class!! Or at least some of the class..best movie ever!!I really had a ball and I'm so glad some of you, like Marc and Carolyn are whacky and sporting enough to stand up and dance! I will never forget our short one minute of fame. haha=) Oh we also planned our movie marathon selection of movies which is apparently still with Lydia. People can we put the plan into some action!!?

Our last day of formal classes in SAJC. We celebrated by going to Kbox and followed by Linette's birthday celebration at Arena. It was pretty quiet that night there but I had a great time (watching Marc getting bounced out.HAHAHA.)
What followed was alot of mock tests and consultations and my planner just went blank. No plans. Studied for like ever. Then A levels. Then it was ALL OVER. JUST LIKE THAT. To me, the holiday and parties and outings after that didn't matter. My 2008 had ended as far as I was concerned. It ended on the day A's ended. On the day we completed our Lit p5.
Typing all these out made me come to a realization that I had spent a huge bulk of my time in school and with my classmates the whole of 2008. I truly treasure the times we spent tgt, on outings, in class, worrying about A's. My 2 years have really passed by in a flash and I am not afraid to admit that I am abit terrified of what awaits me. I am also quite upset that i'm leaving JC life behind. But although we're prolly not returning to SA ever, I don't necessarily have to leave all my memories behind. Yes, the backdrop for these memories are the school but it is not the literal structure of the school that I will miss most or the smell of the LTs(smelly but i will miss) or the food from the caf(as we so affectionately call it) but the people who have helped form these memories of my JC life. Here I would like to say that you guys, A7 don't have to be part of my memory because I want you all to be in my present life so please continue to stay around!!
Cousins, I know i'd neglected you the past year for the sake of well, my A's, I'm here to kah-chiou you all know! Thanks for being so understanding and supportive of my MIA-ness and I'm glad that I'm having a lot of time to be even closer to you guys again =)
And to the rest of my loved ones who have made my 08 a most meaningful one, thank you.
Now I feel like I can sort of let go so GOODBYE 08!

I know i'm like one day late but it's not my fault since my lappy couldn't get itself to start and i hate using my com outside. Anyways HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
Since it's the start of 2009, I have made a few resolutions that I will abide by throughout the whole year and I'm listing it now in the hope that you, my family and friends, will assist me in sticking to them (since we ALL know how new year resolutions do not eventually materialize.)
1.Lose weight (at least about 5kg of it)
2.Visibly lose thigh, arms and face fat. (Very important!)
3.Tone boinky butt.
4.Jog twice a week (stop laughing.I see you laughing.)
5.Work out in gym at least once a week (I will follow Matt every Saturday. This is to achieve 3. Oh btw, I'm not starting tmr.)
6.Spend first half of the year productively i.e by looking for a job and sticking to it.
7.Pack my room. (I cleared my wardrobe today!)
8.Change hairstyle(please suggest a suitable hair style for my face shape)
9.Spend more time with friends and catch up with old ones.
10.Do charity work.
11.Help Claire with schoolwork.
12.Remain loyal to Matt while he goes into NS (also very important)
13.Read more books including non-fiction ones to boost my already quite boosted general knowledge! (I just borrowed 3 fiction books from the library)
14.Follow the news.
15.Stay bonded with cousins.
16.Learn how to cook from Liza. (This includes baking) (Also important)
17.Decide on what to do after result collection day (As in what course,school...)
18.Catch up on drama serials. (Lend me some dramas people!)
19.Remain happy and cheerful no matter what and stay true to yourself =)
20.Stop being mean to random strangers. (Quite hard.)
21.Love everyone unconditionally.
22.Most importantly, I wanna have a meaningful 2009 and carpe diem!
